History

DCM was founded in 2008 as a film production company. The four partners—Dario Suter, Christoph Daniel, Marc Schmidheiny, and Joel Brandeis—expanded the business in 2012 by founding DCM Film Distribution in Berlin, establishing their own distribution arm. In 2013, the distribution operations expanded to Zurich under the leadership of Stephanie Candinas. In 2026, DCM acquired 100% of Ascot Elite Entertainment, the Swiss independent market leader, along with its existing team.

Dario Suter serves as Managing Director in Germany, while Stephanie Candinas leads the management team in Switzerland. The four founders and partners—Dario Suter, Christoph Daniel, Marc Schmidheiny, and Joel Brandeis—focus on the company’s overall strategic management within the newly created Board (Germany) and the Board of Directors (Switzerland).
