Create to inspire – under this motto, we bring selected films that we produce or acquire for the German-speaking territories to the big cinema screen and to screens at home. Always with the aim of inspiring and delighting our audience.

Our productions and co-productions include the feature films ASTRID, BIBI & TINA TEIL 1–5, FABIAN, LINDENBERG! MACH DEIN DING, SOPHIA, DER TOD UND ICH and the award-winning children’s film SIEGER SEIN, as well as the acclaimed works of director Wim Wenders: PERFECT DAYS, ANSELM and FROM INSIDE OUT – DIE ARCHITEKTUR VON PETER ZUMTHOR.

Our licence acquisitions include films such as THE ARTIST, I, TONYA, LA GRANDE BELLEZZA, MOONLIGHT, SPENCER, VAN GOGH – AN DER SCHWELLE ZUR EWIGKEIT, CIVIL WAR, LONGLEGS and DER SALZPFAD.

History

DCM was founded in 2008 as a film production company. In 2012, the four partners Dario Suter, Christoph Daniel, Marc Schmidheiny and Joel Brandeis added a distribution business of their own by founding DCM Film Distribution in Berlin. In 2013, distribution expanded to Zurich under the management of Stephanie Candinas. In 2026, DCM acquired 100% of Ascot Elite Entertainment, the Swiss independent market leader, including its existing team.

Dario Suter is Managing Director in Germany, while Stephanie Candinas manages the company in Switzerland. The four founders and partners Dario Suter, Christoph Daniel, Marc Schmidheiny and Joel Brandeis focus on the overall strategic management of the company on the newly created Board (Germany) and the Board of Directors (Switzerland).
