Komplizinnen - Vernunft ist keine Lösung
Vera (Laura Tonke) has recently found herself constantly breaking into a sweat and flying into a rage. Convinced that both her partner (Tom Schilling) and her job are suffocating her, she impulsively decides to walk away from both. It is only when the consequences come crashing down on her that she begins to realise what she has set in motion.
Professor Miriam (Anne Ratte-Polle) gets entangled in a toxic affair with a student (Sogol Faghani), buys herself a Porsche in an attempt to heal her inner wounds, and speeds towards an emotional and literal wreck.
Couples therapist Anne (Katharina Marie Schubert) understands everyone else's lives perfectly well, but her own suddenly spins out of control when her son leaves home. Fortunately, an unconventional and poetic affair rekindles her zest for life. And even that is something her extraordinarily understanding husband (Christoph Maria Herbst) tries to come to terms with.
Liv (Heike Makatsch) is caught in the relentless stress of being a successful working mother and wife, juggling two teenage sons who are permanently glued to their video games, a laid-back unemployed husband, and the looming prospect of turning 50. Already stretched to breaking point, a botched Botox treatment just before her milestone birthday finally pushes her into a complete nervous breakdown...
Teetering between happiness and despair, the paths of four women cross in a fateful twist of destiny as they each set out to rediscover something missing from their lives. Together, they come to realise that sometimes you have to lose control to find yourself again.
