The Great Beauty

It’s summer and Rome, the eternal city, is stunningly beautiful. Jep Gamberdella (Toni Servillo) lives a life of pure pleasure: intoxicating parties, sumptuous dinners, beautiful women and dazzling people. His 65th birthday is just around the corner, and Jep is living his glamorous life to the fullest. A charming, charismatic and successful journalist, he is the crowning glory of all the city’s best bashes, partying wildly with Rome’s high society. And yet, behind the inveterate seducer, there is a cynical observer, who sees things from the other side, the hollowness and superficiality of the opulent world he belongs to.

A love letter to Rome, THE GREAT BEAUTY follows our hero on a truly spectacular visual rush through an inviting and breathtaking city on the search for something buried deep within.
