Wolkenbruchs wunderliche Reise in die Arme einer Schickse

Good boy Motti Wolkenbruch (Joel Basman) has always done what his orthodox Jewish “Mame” (Inge Maux) has told him to. Until now, that is. But while she is looking for a wife for him and inviting round a stream of potential young brides, Motti decides to leave tradition behind. At college he falls in love with the beautiful but non-Jewish Laura (Noémie Schmidt).

Motti’s mother is beside herself, as Motti falling in love with a shiksa is not part of the plan. From here Motti bravely embarks on a fantastical journey of self determination, and there’s a lot of pain and humor along the way.

THE AWAKENING OF MOTTI WOLKENBRUCH is an affectionate adaptation of the novel of the same name by Thomas Meyer.
